COUNSELING

United Hope offers counseling to help victims cope with the emotional aftermath of abuse. Victims may choose to get counseling when they feel they are ready. Counseling options including individual and group therapy. United Hope recognizes the crucial importance in counseling to victims as it provides:

- Immediate relief from strain and/or stress of primary psychosocial issue(s)
- Ideally, long-term improvement if not solution to these same areas of concern
- Enhanced self-esteem/self-worth, self-confidence, and assertiveness
- Empowerment and re-gaining a sense of control over your life
- Increased coping skills relative to life stressors
- Improved communication and interpersonal skills
- Goal setting. Action plan implementation. Commitment to change.
