The UAE government has adopted the universal values and principles that promote and protect human rights as outlined in the charter of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This reference to universality does not in any way signify any Western monopoly over human rights. Instead, it is a concept developed through a multi-cultural consensus and one that complements Islam’s belief in the respect and dignity for the human person.
Our call for support from the community and the UAE government at large has not gone unheeded. The UAE government has already succeeded in making progress in introducing laws to protect human rights. With the help and support of community leaders and key governmental figures, United Hope is able create awareness, educate the public, conduct research and advance the basic tenets of human rights.
