OUR BEGINNING
It started with phone calls, and urgent pleas for help. An American woman beaten by her Iranian husband for more than 20 years seeking refuge and divorce. A 16-year-old Uzbek girl imprisoned in a house with five other women, lured by a false promise, now destined for a life of prostitution. A 13-year-old South Asian girl abused by her guardians, treated like an indentured slave. What ends in despair for these women finds new beginnings with United Hope.
United Hope is an NGO that opened its heart and doors to assist victims of human rights violations in the UAE. Born out of necessity, UH firmly embraces the principles of the Quran and its dictum of universal welfare. The organization follows the guiding message: "Worship Allah and join none with Him (in worship); and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, Al-Masakin (the poor), the neighbor who is near of kin, the neighbor who is a stranger, the companion by your side, and the wayfarer (you meet).'' (4:36)
Tirelessly working towards the progress of human rights development, United Hope helps victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, discrimination and exploitation. Espousing a simple creed, United Hope is dedicated to the preservation of the integrity, stability and beauty of the community. This drive is rooted in their conscience that believes humankinds’ victimization is the barrier to human development and threatens to hinder many countries’ future progress
